Bob trained as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand where he gained a range of experience with public and private sector clients. He joined Bentley Jennison’s Public Sector internal audit division in 1996 and worked with colleges and housing associations. He transferred to Bentley Jennison Consulting in 2000 while continuing to specialise in education, housing and not-for-profits.

Bob has undertaken a range of assignments with colleges including interim Finance Director roles, college merger due diligence, restructuring feasibility studies and board training. He is an LSC Recognised Governor Trainer and has particular experience of working with colleges in financial and governance difficulties.

Bob's work with social landlords has focused on corporate governance and management processes as well as undertaking validation of business plans and performance indicator systems.

Other experience has involved internationally funded projects in Bosnia.

In November 2006 Bob started his own consultancy firm as he believes that the not-for-profit sector needs and deserves cost-effective but sector-specialist consultancy in the fields of resource management and governance.

In his spare time, Bob is a board member of a housing association, where he is the audit committee chair. His other interests include current affairs, film and travel (especially in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union).
